The Eagles 3 CyberTitan team is a fun-loving group of individuals that have come together, having a shared interest in Cybersecurity. Over the past 8 months they have formed a bond and grown together through the challenges they faced both during their learning and through the competition phases. They have spent hours learning about CyberTitan and preparing for competitions throughout the year, both at school and on their own time. I look forward to what this group will accomplish in the future!
I became involved in CyberTitan through participation in a Professional Learning activity hosted by Opportunities NB and CyberNB. During the session there was a brief talk by a representative of CyberNB and a few New Brunswick high school teachers who introduced the competition and its inclusion of middle schools. I felt that I had a number of students that would be interested in these types of activities and decided to pursue this for our school.
CyberTitan plays an important role in exposing many students to the world of cybersecurity. The conversations it creates around being safe and responsible in all aspects of their online life are critical discussions for teens learning how to interact in this space. Beyond the teams, CyberTitan has numerous students asking questions about what, how, and why teams operate, and their expectations. Interest and curiosity is growing around the activities that students are completing, with many students interested in getting “on board” for next year. CyberTitan is exposing students to new opportunities and potential career paths and growing student interest in the field beyond their public school years.

I wanted to join because I love technology.

I would love to be a neurologist!

I like to talk to my friends and play video games.

Why did you join the team?
Because I enjoy solving problems and enjoy using technology on a daily basis.
What career would you like to pursue in the future?
I would like to pursue a job revolving around technology and problem solving, perhaps as a software engineer.
What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
RI enjoy playing games and hanging out with friends from time to time. I also enjoy solving problems like the Rubik’s cube or jigsaw puzzles. My hobby is playing tennis.

I was interested in doing more with computers and coding, and thought this could be similar.
